super compact dimensions - this engine is a technical
jewel in terms of performance.
The
"Corsa Lunga" motor sets new parameters
for the naked category. It has been entirely
designed by Benelli technicians and offers superior
performance, elevated maximum power and torque
and an unmistakeable sound.
A
powerful three aligned cylinder engine derived
directly from competition bikes. The elements
which set it apart are the cast motor covers,
the aluminium cover and the oil-bath clutch
with anti-slip device.
To ensure elevated yield along
the entire distribution curve of the new motor, the
electronic injection system uses a set of sensors
which detect the necessary data to be processed by
a micro-computer and then re-transmitted to the injection
command.
Numerous, important innovations
have been implemented in the transmission with the
objective of ensuring immediate, smooth gear changes
with easier insertion. All of this is facilitated
by the use of an oil-bath clutch with anti-slip device,
equipped with a flexible coupler system which not
only guarantees function regularity but also makes
controlling the handlebar easier.
Another characteristic is the
extractable 6-speed gear shift which, as in every
competition bike, allows the rapid replacement of
the gears without having to disassemble the engine.
An important innovation has been implemented in
the electronic injection system: through the design
of the new command unit dedicated to a 3 cylinder
engine, a specific injection and start map has been
created with close range command break point .
